Broker's Comments

The Fairey story began in aviation in 1915 in Southampton, England. Fairey Marine followed in 1946, initially to make use of the spare building shed capacity after wartime production ceased. Having perfected the hot moulding techniques on aircraft they turned to boats and the rest is history! The Fairey Owners Club documents it far better than I can!

The Fairey Huntsman 31 was their final design to use the hot moulded construction method. The first was built in 1967 and there were 32 hulls produced by Fairey in Southampton and then fitted out by various yards. This is hull number 28, moulded in 1972 but not launched until 1978, an aft cabin version and she really is a beauty!

On deck she looks smart, the brightwork and paintwork gleams, her teak decks appear tight, clean and in good order and that hull is just stunning! Following survey in 2023 the hull was professionally sheathed as a precautionary measure and she has been surveyed again since.

Down below she has that classic Fairey interior that is unmistakable. Her cushions are stored at home so she may look a little sparse in photographs but as on deck she is smart, clean and tidy and feels very dry and fresh.

This is a lovely, well cared for example of an iconic design and she will turn heads wherever she goes. She's warm and dry in a boatshed, come and have a look!
